Adjustment Of Reverse Touch Pressure in Strapack SQ-800.

1. Reversing Mechanism

When Not Reversing:

SOL1 is off At this time. Reverse Upper Roller and FR Roller on the reverse side are apart. This gap should be adjusted by the stopper of SOL1 plunger.
Standard measurement = "C" dimension = 10mm


When Reversing 

SOL1 is ON. Via Reverse Solenoid Link Plate and by pulling down Reverse solenoid Joint Assembly, strap will be pinched between the Reverse Upper Roller and FR Roller (reverse side) and be reversed. Without the strap being loaded, unless there is at least a gap ("D" in the picture) of 0.5-1mm, there will be no touch pressure even when SOL1 pulls to the end of stroke.



 2.When Reverse Touch Pressure Adjustment Is Needed

Symptoms: Strap is not around the package.

Strap comes out of the first comer of the arch but not from the second to fourth corner. Due to the type of the package, the standard reverse pressure is insufficient. (Le, there is a friction on the surface. e.g Styrofoam, rubber coated product, etc.)

Countermeasure: Increase reverse touch Pressure.


Symptoms: Touch pressure is so strong that SOLI (Reverse) is not reaching the end of stroke and appropriate pressure is not achieved.

Countermeasure: Decrease reverse touch pressure.


3.Adjustment standard for Reverse Touch Pressure.

The maximum tension of the strap should be 24.5 to 29.4N (2.5 to 3kgl or 5.5 to 6.5 lbs.) (direct tension) when reversing.

In fact, the touch pressure standard is set according to the force of pulling Reverse Upper Pressure when reversing (In case of 15.5mm or 5/8" strap, 14.7 to 15.7N (1.5 to 1.6kgf or 3.3 to 3.5lbs))


4.How to Adjust the Reverse Touch Pressure.

1. Reverse Touch Roller Pressure.

To Increase. Remove the pin and tum Reverse Spring Adjuster clockwise. (Le, tighten Reverse Spring)
To reduce: Remove the pin and turn Reverse Spring Adjuster counterclockwise. Le loosen Reverse Spring).

2.Adjustment for SOLI and Reverse Solenoid Joint Assembly

Adjust the position of SOL1 of FR Solenoid Base up and down.
When SOLI plunger is pushed all the way to the end of stroke by a finger
No strap → Gap D=approx. 0.5 to 1mm.
Strap loaded → Gap D= approx. 1 to 2mm.
